02: The Logic Gap

Identifying structural dissonance

A Logic Gap exists when the “Moral Intention” of a system is in direct contradiction with its “Operational Blueprint.” This is not a failure of character, but a failure of alignment. When an organization claims a value but builds a process that rewards its opposite, the process will always win. The Logic Gap is the space where institutional integrity goes to die.

THE CORE COMPONENTS

• Narrative vs. Infrastructure: The gap between what is said in the boardroom and what is made possible on the floor. If a mission statement requires “Innovation” but the blueprint requires “Triple-Approval for Every Expense,” the gap is the bottleneck.
• The Resource Paradox: Identifying where authority is granted without the corresponding resources. This creates a “phantom system” where people are held accountable for outcomes that the blueprint makes mathematically impossible.
• Decoupled Feedback Loops: When the signals of failure never reach the nodes of authority. The logic gap here is the insulation that protects the blueprint from the reality of its own performance.

THE LESSON

Integrity is a structural feature, not a moral one. To close the Logic Gap, you must either change the Narrative to match the Blueprint or redesign the Blueprint to support the Narrative.
